How to select the right chain: For leaf chains, match by chain designation (e.g., LH1234, BL534) and length. For roller chains, match by ANSI chain number (e.g., #40, #50, #60), pitch, and width. OSHA 1910.178 requires lift chain inspection at every 250 hours of operation — chains showing more than 3% elongation or visible corrosion must be replaced immediately.
