How to select the right seal kit: Identify your equipment's make, model, and serial number from the data plate. For pump seal kits, note the pump manufacturer (often stamped on the pump body) — common suppliers include Monarch, Parker, and Haldex. For cylinder kits, note the cylinder bore diameter and rod diameter. Matching these specs ensures the seals seat correctly and hold pressure.

Common use cases: Scheduled hydraulic maintenance, repairing slow or failed lift function, stopping oil weeping from cylinder rods or pump fittings, and full hydraulic rebuilds during equipment refurbishment. Replacing seals proactively at 2,000–3,000 operating hours is standard practice for high-cycle equipment.

Choosing a seal kit

A seal kit replaces the wear items inside a hydraulic pump unit — the parts that harden, shrink and weep long before anything metal fails. Replacing the seals is usually far cheaper than replacing the pump.

Signs the seals have gone

  • The forks drift down under load instead of holding
  • Oil weeping around the pump body or ram
  • The handle needs more strokes than it used to to reach full lift
  • Visible fluid on the floor beneath the unit
